The desire to create is the desire to communicate. What must be communicated is that which is uniquely self. Self can only be found through the constant challenging of one’s thoughts and ideas on the illusive nature of a reality as incomprehensible as the space between the stars. It is in the secrets hidden in the human face with its infinite variety and versatility that I find my challenge. The painting becomes the sum total of my experience up to the time I lay down my brush coupled with that of the viewer at the time he views it.

The joy and excitement come through knowing that by tomorrow “self” will be a little different and one is free to begin all over again.
